Bahrain Superbike Championship Season Awards Ceremony

The Bahrain Superbike Championship (BSBK) and Bahrain SuperSport Championship (BSSP) ended this moto-racing season with the final round on 20th of April at the Bahrain International Circuit(BIC) and held their Season Awards Ceremony at the Capital Club on 21st April Saturday. Sponsors, BSBK and BSSP Riders, Officials and the other guests attended the event. 

Ahmed AlMuyini from KSA won the overall championship for BSBK followed by Weasley Pearce of UK who was placed 2nd overall while Bahraini local Salman Khalaf got the 3rd place overall. 

Hussain Al Aswad from Bahrain took the overall championship award for BSSP followed by George Mokbel(Lebanon) who came 2nd. 17-year-old Abdul Samee(India) came 3rd in the overall championship. 

Presenting the awards for the Overall Champions were Mr. AbdulRahman Almoayed and Mr. Hussain AlKooheji Co-founders of Moto-Gulf, the company that owns BSBK and BSSP. 

The event commemorates the special participation and support that BSBK and BSSP received from all its sponsors namely :- DHL, SSH, Panta Racing Fuel, InTouch Clinic, Elements Production, Sprint Filter, Capital Club, Al Haddad-MercedesBenz, Pirelli Tyres, Bahrain International Circuit (BIC), Illy, Manama Tours , Ducati Bahrain and Wheels of Arabia. 

Special category awards were also presented to various riders to acknowledge their skills thru the season.

‘’Riders have become like family and this season brought a new bond among BSBK riders. This season also marks a new high in the history of BSBK as for the first time BSBK raced in Dubai! ” Hussain AlKooheji, Co-Founder of BSBK stated. 

BSBK is a superbike racing championship that includes 12 races over the period of 6 months. The championship takes the shape of an "arrive and race" where the contestants lease the motorbike for the season using identical bikes 899 Ducati Panigale. Similarly BSSP is a championship that uses the Aprilia 125 cc bikes for its races.
